In a significant move to enhance economic and trade cooperation, state subsidiary Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) has inked a partnership with key partners to drive the development of the Malaysia Innovation Economy Corridor (MIEC). This initiative aims to position Selangor as a hub for technological advancement and economic growth, inviting international partners to contribute to this ambitious project.

The partnerships involve PNSB, China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC), and Skymind Holdings Berhad (Skymind). This collaboration leverages the expertise of each organization to foster international collaborations and attract substantial foreign direct investments in Selangor. CIECC, is recognized for its involvement in mega projects and investments, including the Belt and Road Initiative. Skymind, a company of Skyvast Corporation, is a leader in AI technology, spearheading the development of a regional Innovation Advancement Hub in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Renowned for its powerful AI deployment platform, Skymind is trusted by major companies worldwide.

The Malaysia Innovation Economy Corridor (MIEC) is a proposed national-level initiative, with an anchor innovation hub to be developed by Skymind in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. This corridor aims to catalyze international collaborations, encourage intellectual property transfers, and enhance economic activities through substantial foreign direct investments. By situating the innovation hub in Cyberjaya, the MIEC is strategically positioned to attract international companies and foster research and development endeavors. The goal of MIEC is to position Malaysia as the premier hub and a soft landing zone for advanced technology companies entering Southeast Asia, making Malaysia the regional center for the region.

Shawn Tan, the Group Chairman of Skyvast, also the Global CEO of Skymind, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. “Our collaboration with CIECC and other partners is a catalyst for accelerating the collaboration between companies from Malaysia and around the world. The MIEC, with its anchoring innovation hub in Cyberjaya, represents a grand vision for positioning Malaysia as a global leader in technology and economic growth,” said Tan. This partnership signifies Skyvast’s strategy to have Skymind lead the initiative as the developer of the key anchor of the MIEC innovation center in Malaysia.

The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from the involved organizations. Shawn Tan, signing on behalf of Skymind, was joined by Y.M. Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Bin Raja Salim, CEO of Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), Du Zhenli, Chief Consultant of China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC), and Zheng Weili, Deputy General Manager of Fujian China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (FJCIECC). The ceremony was witnessed by Dato’ Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad, Dato’ Romli Ishak, Chairman of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, and representatives from various government agencies.

The partnership between Skyvast, CIECC, and Skymind marks a significant step toward strengthening Malaysia’s economic landscape. By focusing on the development of the MIEC, this collaboration aims to drive technological advancements, attract substantial investments, and position Selangor as a premier hub for innovation and economic growth.
